What is Coriolanus all about?
Well since the trailer of Coriolanus has been released, I have been really excited to watch this movie. And the reason of my excitement is that this is a film adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic tragedy of the same name. And secondly the movie stars Gerard Butler and Ralph Fiennes. What more could have made this movie as a hugely anticipated movie? The movie has released in some of the film festivals and since the release the movie has got some positive response and looks like we will see a good movie this Friday.
So what is the plot of Coriolanus?
Coriolanus tells us the story of Rome. And it tells the story when the citizens of Rome were at its lowest, they were hungry, needy and had no idea how to overcome this situation. And so we meet Coriolanus, he is the hero of Rome, he is a true soldier and a man who has some morals nobody can shake. And because of his way of dealing things, the entire Rome gets into a mass riot and Rome turns Bloody.
But nothing is bigger than getting manipulated and cheated by your own mother, Coriolanus is cheated by his mother and is banished from Rome and now to avenge his defeat, Coriolanus offers his services to his sworn enemy Tullus Aufidius. Coriolanus and Aufidius march on Rome intending to destroy the city. Volumnia appeals to her son. He tries to reject her but eventually breaks. Aufidius, feeling bitterly betrayed, brutally murders Coriolanus.
Well I am sure the classic plot is just too good, and now when it will be made into a movie. I expect the makers to do justice to the plot. and if they are able to achive even 10% of what Shakeaspeare had written. I am sure the movie will be epic.
