Quicktake:
This is the experience that you should experience, if you miss this you will have to wait for a long time to experience such an experience.
When Avatar came, people went around saying that nothing can beat Avatar, the visuals were unmatchable, the story was a bit weak but the story-telling was great, the world witnessed a revolution when they saw Avatar, the world now after they watch this third installment of Transformers now will stand up and ask Now what, and why will we ask Now What, because filmmakers like James Cameroon and Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay will keep this thing coming and every time they come they will raise the bar, so higher that we will think “Oh now this is impossible to over-haul” but the moment we say that one of these gifted makers will blow away all our questions away.
Okay trying to figure what am I saying, well in simple words Transformers and Avatar and Inception, this is the new wave in Cinema, this is like a revolution in filmmaking where makers are just not stopping and in this mayhem Michael Bay brings us a masterpiece that looks unbeatable. It’s such a visual treat that hardly anyone would have had thought to put a story in place but Michael Bay just did not want to visually treat us, he wanted to raise the bar that James Cameroon had set, now the bar is way too up and something extra-ordinary only can touch that level.
In short Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a movie that shouldn’t be missed by anyone of you, and here are the reasons why?
Plot Review:
What a Plot, A science fiction Plot that has drama and also some really humorous moments.
When the first Transformers came, it just shook the world upside down, 2007 was the year when I went to a theatre and saw this movie and I was awe-struck but yet something was missing from the movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen surely left a foul taste in my mouth, I felt this was it, no more Autobots and Decepticons, but Bay wasn’t finished he went for a third in the series and I felt that this could mean Michael Bay is playing blind and he doesn’t know what he is betting on, well not that the Transformers 2 did not make money but people just hated the movie and when a sequel goes bad in the second time, people normally don’t make another sequel to it, But Bay had another plans he made this and since the time the trailers were out, Transformers: Dark of the Moon owned me, I was so sure that the movie will be good, and I was not even for a single moment disappointed by my intuition.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon starts in one of the most interesting ways to describe what Hollywood makers feel about Moon landing and the US government hiding details about spaceships and stuff, Hollywood makers so want to prove that something happened when Kennedy was the president, something is hiding in the NASA vaults that we common humans don’t know, the makers just don’t stops, this year X-Men played with the past, Green Lantern also in bits and pieces and Transformer’s plot is completely based on the event that is considered to be the biggest event in human history, the time when human first landed on the Moon, Neil Armstrong just did not go to the Moon for doing some Moon walk, America had some serious business behind this, and the serious business was a spacecraft which they came to know and they felt that this was of an alien planet that crashed on the Moon. They took samples and shut this forever, but little did they know that years later, the spacecraft that they felt was a spacecraft was actually the only way they can save their own planet.
We already know that Autobots were defeated by Decepticons and their planet was destroyed and that Autobots now were hiding on Earth and then two epic battles happened and with the help of Sam Witwicky, the Autobots defeated the Decepticons twice, but all this started from a war, and in that war, when the Autobots were losing they released an Arc that was operated by Senitel Prime, the leader of Autobots, who had a technology that could had defeated the Decepticons. But the Arc is attacked and is destroyed and it rash lands on the moon, now from here the humans comes to know all this, so the story is connected well in the beginning and from here it is the story of Sam Witwicky who now is jobless even after saving the world twice and even after getting a medal from the president Barak Obama. He lives with his rich and sexy girl-friend who is hotter than any Fox, he just doesn’t lives with her, he lives in her apartment and also gets pocket-money to eat lunch, his days with the Autobots are over as they are bust training the humans how to tackle the Decepticons and all Sam has are two small annoying Autobots, he hates his life even after he has a hot chick, and the reason is that he wants to be a hero in his job and not someone who takes photocopies but he has to do a job which he hates, just because he has to work as his parents wants him to.
His hot girlfriend works at a huge place and her boss is a hot-shot who has his eyes on his girlfriend and he hates her boss, for sure reasons, which boss gifts his employees a Mercedes worth $20, 0000. But apart from this the Autobots come to know what the humans have kept in hiding for these many years and they seek answers, they get their answers and they get them, they go to the moon and find the Arc and find Senitel Prime bring him back to earth and also bring his invention to earth, and now they an surely beat the Decepticons, but wait can this be so simple, absolutely no, The Depeticons wanted this and Sam wanted to covey this but the CIA agents felt he is just a teenager. The Decepticons wanted the Autobots to get Senitel Prime as they were the only source that could bring Senitel Prime back to life and they achieved this but why would they want to bring back an enemy to life who can surely defeat them, well be sure is Senitel Prime really an ally to humans and Autobots or he is a traitor, well he is a traitor and then what follows is war and this war is by far “The Most beautiful war I Have ever seen,a nd you could ever see” Mark my words “The Best”.
Who will win this war and how, will the humans exist or they will perish or worse will they become slaves, who is helping Decepticons, what happens to Sam Wiwicky and most importantly will the earth perish in this Robot war, well you have to witness this rather than reading it.
The Plot of this installment is better than the first two and visually also it is much more ahead, the 3D is simply amazing, and by amazing I mean: Truly Amazing. The plot is not perfect, it has some loopholes but they are too small and they are surely negligible and not even worth mentioning, In short a wonderful Plot, garnered with even more beautiful visuals and told in the best possible way. And also worth mentioning is the humor content in the movie, some moments really had me in splits like the toilet scene and also the dialogues had a pinch of humor that surely leaves a sweet taste in the end.
Direction and Screenplay Review:
Welcome to the Bay-world.
Bay-world is the world created by Michael Bay who is one of the most celebrated Filmmakers from Hollywood, he makes these Autobots and Deepticons and everything look so damn real, not even for a moment I felt, now this is looking shoddy, this is looking like its animated, obviously that is what you expect when you pump in so much of money for a movie, but sometimes story hampers because of visuals, but Bay knew he made a mistake with the sequel, he couldn’t go wrong with the 3rd and bet on that he didn’t even come close of committing any mistake, his direction was spot on and he hit the target bulls eye. Michael Bay probably will now have fans called Bay-maniacs and Bay-maniacs will desperately wait for what is next that this filmmaker is making.
Acting Review:
In a movie which drives mostly on the visual fuel acting suffers a lot, people tend to show more style rather than their acting skills, they end up bringing the quality of the movie suffer but here the lead actor Shia Labeouf who wooed us in the first two parts with his Witty and wicked style, Mr. Witwicky again charms you, the new hot chick Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who replaces another hot chick delivers what she was expected to do and really she acts good, all other actors do a good job. But the show-stoppers are the robots, even though you cannot see their expressions so clearly you understand their pain, their anger so perfectly. So surely great acting by every cast member of the Transformers team.
Music Review:
Steve Jablonsky composes an awesome score.
In such movie end-of-the-world movies, the score plays a very important part as the sore has to be spot-on to engage the audience in every sequence of the movie, be it a very tense moment or a very emotional, and the composer really does an excellent job with the sore for this movie.
Verdict:
A experience of a life-time, the movie is exceptionally well made, the visuals are simply mind-boggling, the 3D is eye-popping, the story is very intelligent, the treatment is perfect, the score syncs in with the movie, the actors have given their best, what does all of this mean, yes the movie is exceptional, it beats some of “The Best” movies of the decade and it will be really tough to match the standards that Transformers: Dark Of The Moon has set, I recommend it to everyone not because I loved it or you will definitely love it, but because the experience will surely stay with you for a long time. So surely don’t miss this exceptional experience.
