Talaash Music Review: Watch and Listen Songs

No. Of Views : 2604

Dated : November, 24, 2012 BY

Directed by Reema Kagti, 'Talaash' is a crime thriller movie starring Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor Khan in lead. The music here is composed by Ram Samapt, whereas the lyrics are penned down by Javed Akhtar. The ratings of the music here can be given as 3.5 stars!

Expectations

As the genre of the movie is crime thriller, so although one cannot look forward for some chartbuster songs, but at least quite soothing to hear and supportive to the storyline. On the other hand, as it's an Aamir Khan-starrer film and composed by one of the very talented Ram Sampat, who had earlier impressed with 'Delhi Belly', one can surely expect something better. On the musical front, music is assumed to deliver some intimidating melodies, intense jazz, and figuratively loud inspirational tracks, along with a sturdy cheerful feel. Well, this Ram Sampath's composed album provides a sack of five original soundtracks and one remix song that are customized to fit for every situational outing.

Talaash Music Review

Muskaanein Jhoothi Hain...

The album kicks off with 'Muskaanein Jhooti Hain', which is a jazz-swing number, sung by Hawa Hawai fame Suman Sridhar in the company of her deep vocals. The booming double bass in the track is lovely and, despite the fact that the composition and as well video of it recollects you the era of 50s or 60s black-n-white films, but luckily it doesn't makes a tribute and impresses with its originality.

Jee Le Zaraa...

Next in the offering comes 'Jee Le Zaraa', where after hearing it one can realize that the soundtrack is now going in a meditative space. This song has an unforgettable riff that remains with you like a sonic trace, where to be precise it's a kind of number which one would like to hear it on a long drive. Sung by Vishal Dadlani, the song is very much soothing and impressive in the company of his warm and honest vocals. The rich and reverberating brass dominates throughout the song, along with a sparkling positive move. On the whole, it's a lively musical piece that brings out an array of warm melodious expressions which is actually required for a well-etched sensational thriller.

Jee Le Zaraa (Remix version)...

Although every remix number arrives with a risk of sounding either too profound or picturized, but in this one, the remix version doesn't sound bad in any way. Sampath had strike the right chord by making this one of the finest 'scary melody' of this year. 'Jee Le Zaara (remix)' will definitely scores well for party-people.

Jiya Lage Na...

After a daunting melody, here comes somewhat a romantic number with 'Jiya Lage Na'. This song will come out as a fresh smell of air with a thoroughly crafted testing that makes an attempt to seize every sad shade into a romantic one. While it's been beautifully sung by Sona Mohapatra along with Ravindra Upadhyay, but the song as a whole impresses partially.

Hona Hai Kya...

Next in line comes 'Hona Hai Kya' which is sung by the composer Ram himself, where it follows up by the electronic passion. The song revitalizes the 70's back action thriller feel, with a range of techno-breezy beats, sounds and rhythms. In this almost 4-minute track, it demands a picture of deadly appeal, lost-paradise and a hunt to crack a mystery. Sampath's fires out a burning ballistic missile this time and succeeds effectively in giving out a racy theme track.

Lakh Duniya Kahe...

The composer lends his vocals to the next song as well, Lakh Duniya Kahe. It follows more or less all beliefs of an average rock ballad and traits some of the emotive lyrics written by Javed Akhtar (Lakh duniya kahe tum nahin ho, tum yahin ho, tum yahin ho). The vocal harmonies in the song are noteworthy and remarkable. Prosperous in emotional proportion and experimentations, this Ram Sampath's sung track is an exceptional song that mellows in a fine manner by means of its looks and reassuring lyrics.

Overall

Sampath's Bollywood ventures may perhaps be few, but the Delhi Belly (2011) composer's potency and flexibility, shines through most of his work, and this has been very well showcased on 'Talaash'. It is a richly raised album that fetches out different shades of genres and appearances with great results. On the whole, it's a wonderful listening experience.
