Pak Grants National Heritage Status To Dilip Kumar's Ancestral Home

Veteran star Dilip Kumar has all the reasons to be proud. The latest news is that his ancestral home in Peshawar will soon be acquired as well as preserved by the provincial government of Pakistan. That's not all, the house would also be granted the status of National Heritage. This news was made public by none other than Mian Iftikhar Hussain who is the Minister for Culture in Pakistan. The news coincided with the star's 90th birthday.

Born as Mohamman Yusuf Khan, Dilip Kumar has been a known face in Indian cinema and has contributed substantially to its success. His 90th birthday should have been cause of a grand celebration. However due to the demise of many of his colleagues and loved ones from the film fraternity such as Rajesh Khanna, Dev Anand, Yash Chopra et al he was shattered and had decided not to celebrate his birthday this year.

His fans however could not abstain from being present in his hometown when this news was announced.

The legendary star was pleasantly surprised and humbled by this benevolent gesture and was thankful to the CHC and his fans for making this day special.

The CHC claimed that this move was made in order to strengthen the ties between India and Pakistan and encourage the citizens of both the countries to mingle with each other.
