Nana Patekar Biography

Nana Patekar, born on 11th January 1951 at Murud Janjira, is an Indian theatre and film actor and has acted in Hindi and Marathi films. He is the son of noted painter Dinkar Patekar and Sanjana. He is married to Neelkanti Patekar.
Nana Patekar is the only actor in the history of Indian cinema to win Filmfare awards in three different categories like best actor, best supporting actor, best villain.
Nana Patekar had won National and Filmfare award for his performance in film Parinda, National Award for his role in Krantiveer, and many other awards for his roles in Agni Sakshi, Angaar, Tirangaa, Ab Tak Chhappan.
Nana Patekar has done play back singing in films like Yeshwant, Wajood, Aanch.
Nana Patekar is the honorary Captain in the Indian army, and was trained by the Indian army, for his role of army officer in the film Prahaar: The Final Attack.

Nana Patekar is a very generous kind man and donates regularly to the poor and the needy. He is a trained rifle shooter.

Nana Patekar made his debut in Hindi films in the year 1978 in a film- Gaman, and has acted in films like Aaj Ki Awaaz, Ankush, Salaam Bombay!, Parinda, Thodasa Roomani Ho Jaayen, Prahaar, Diksha, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Angaar, Agni Sakshi, Khamoshi, Yeshwant, Wajood, Hu Tu Tu, Shakti, Bhoot, Bluff Master, Taxi Number 9211, Hattrick, Yatra, Shagird, Raajneeti.
