The verdict is still out on whether 3D makes for a good business proposition for the producers and the viewers or not, and the fact that some really lame 3d movies are coming out is not helping the matter at all. The latest entrant in the 3D world, Pirates of the Caribbean – On Stranger Tides has bowed out to a very poor opening in 3D. With Thor kind of taking the sheen off 3D movies – and viewers all around the world finding out that not even one fourth of a movie is made in 3D, they are staying away from 3D tickets – which are almost double the cost of a simple ticket.
If this continues, we will be only too happy to see 3D being phased out completely from the world of films. After all, who wants to pay top dollar for something that does not even consist of fifteen minutes of a film?
