Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Zanjeer is an upcoming action packed film starring Priyanka Chopra and Tollywood star, Ram Charan in the lead. Being a remake of the 1973 blockbuster release, the music in this reprise version is given by Meet Bros Anjjan and Chirantan Bhatt whereas the songs have been sung by a clan of renowned singers, varying from one song to another. Having witnessed the theme of the film, the music album surely justifies its genre and can be given a score of 2.5 ratings.

Quick Take

Apoorva Lakhia's Zanjeer is a remake of the 1973 blockbuster hit starring Amitabh Bachchan, that had efficiently created an impact of promising action and story-telling, in its times. With this upcoming reprise, the film definitely stands strong with its content by maintaining the original plot as well as molding it according to the urban today. Having a lot of action already on board, this upcoming venture is believed to be based on the oil mafia scam followed by several tricky sequences that will trap you till the end of it. Having learnt this, one would surely expect less of soulful number and more of a loud and majestic numbers right? Seems like, the makers have kept right things in mind and have well crafted the music according to its genre. Comprising a total of 6 lead tracks, the music album offers a good blend of concept and music.

Mumbai Ka Hero...

'Mumbai Ka Hero' is believed to be a tribute to the Indian cops, penned down by Shabbir Ahmed whereas it is voiced by renowned Mika Singh and Talia Bentson. Having heard the song, this musical bit is a feet-tapping number with Mikha's commendable voice flowing through the track. Conceptualizing the life of an Indian cop, this track reveals several instances faced by a cop during his on-duty period. Well, having revealed the concept, the beats are quite impressive and prove it to be one of the fast tracks. Meanwhile, a few verses with a dialogue addition, also sets an impact on the listeners.

Pinky...

'Pinky' is a sensational item number voiced by singers Mamta Sharma and Meet Bros Anjjan whereas the lyrics are done by a pair of lyricists namely, Shabbir Ahmed and Ashraf Ali. This fast number is extremely peppy with creepy lyrics revolving around the item girl, Pinky. Following the league of Chikni Chameli, Munni, Sheila and Babli Badmash, seems like its Pinky's turn to settle into one's playlist. Meanwhile, both the singers have done a splendid job and this track will definitely claim to be one of the major hits, this year.

Lamha Tera Mera...

'Lamha Tera Mera' is comparatively a slow track voiced by singers Wajhi and Palak Muchhal. The song sets a romantic feel and one will get mesmerized with the lyrics of this track. Though the song does not relate to the genre being an action flick, yet we assume the film to have a few bits of love amidst all the action and going by it, this track definitely creates a beautiful space in the music album.

Khochey Pathami Ki Zubaan...

'Khochey Pathami Ki Zubaan' is a Hindustani venture with a slight blend of Qawaali inclusion in it. Voiced by a clan of members namely, Sukhwinder Singh, Shabab Sabri and Meet bros Anjjan the track talks about friendship, loyalty towards duty and majesty of an Indian cop. Conceptualizing the track, the voices are quite promising and we also get to witness, bits of jugal-bandhi by the singers, towards the end of this track. Overall, the track wouldn't make it to one's playlist but surely deserves one hear.

Kaatilana...

This seductive female-oriented musical track is voiced by singer Shwetha Pandit. Having heard this song, Shwetha croons beautifully with the lyrics, in the quest to chant life and grab love. The music is sober and has nothing new to offer except for some grooving beats playing at the background.

'Kaatilana' also has a reprise version to it. Having sung by the same singer as that of its previous version, this track is quite similar to the original, except for some additional beats and bits. However, having heard both of them, one would prefer this club mix over the previous one.

Shakila Banoo...

Shakila Banoo is another item number in Zanjeer's musical venture sung by the renowned Oo La La fame, Shreya Ghoshal. This track involves several fun elements and having heard this track, Shreya conveniently blends through the fast bits to some high pitched Hindustani notes, added in the middle of the song. Talking on a whole, this track serves appropriate, to be tagged as an item number and will definitely find its space into one's playlist.

Overall...

Comprising a total of 6 lead tracks, the musical tour of Zanjeer remake is quite impressive having gelled well with the film's genre. Being an action packed entertainer, the musical album of Zanjeer will surely find its space amidst the other hit numbers, in the industry. Adding on to the music, the pictorial-conception of these musical bits has already made its blockbuster presence across different social mediums. Well, a Zanjeer tour is awaiting so do try venturing this reprise bit!
