AkaashVani is romantic comedy film written and directed by Luv Ranjan, and produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak under the banner Wide Frame Pictures. Thus from the makers of cult hit 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama', this is the second movie from this producer-director duo. The film features Kartik Tiwari as Akaash and Nushrat Bharucha as Vani in lead roles, and is all set to release in theatres on January 25, 2013.
Akaash - He is a charismatic rebel from Chandigarh who believes in doing whatsoever he feels like. He doesn't mind in forming a ploy or something, just to achieve his requirements. Furthermore, he hates the 'Ignore it' mind-set of the society, and hates cowardly people. He can be stubborn enough to surrender himself on an important person he loves the most, but not surrender to social norms. He is making an attempt to write few lines of poetry, he plays guitar well, and is a loving person to hang out with. On the whole, Akaash is just the guy to which every girl would like to fall in love with him sooner or later.
Vani - She is a small town gorgeous looking girl, who has grown up in Dehradun, and living by the regulations set by social norms and customs. She has a dream to fulfill it, but is not having guts to stand up against her family or society, to make those dreams come true. On the whole, Vani is a girl next door who can easily fall in love with anyone, but in no way shows the confidence to fight for her love, for you or for herself.
The film starts with Akaash (Kartik Tiwari) and Vani (Nushrat Bharucha), who are travelling their journey towards a common destination - St. Stephen's College, Delhi University. It so happens that the moment they encounter with each other, their life takes an unexpected and strange turn.
As Akaash and Vani walk in the direction of their first class in college, they are on their way to share their lives with each other for the next three years. Vani creates a calmness and control in Akaash that unfortunately he never had, and on the other side Akaash offers Vani a streak of revolution that she could never think of possessing in herself. Then what happens is simply no one could have ever expected. For no reason, apart from the fact that they complete each other, they fall in love.
In three years, Akaash & Vani turns out to be their best companions, which is not only in the important things of life but also in the most unintelligent, unexciting, unreasonable parts of each other's life. However as college ends, they have to disconnect with each other, and when this disconnection reaches a point where it looks like their fate is to get each other's back in opposition to the will of their families, society and their own problems.
The journey of Akaash & Vani's struggle to find each other for a second time in the world they first met is the overall storyline of AkaashVani.
