Rahul Dev Burman (R D Burman) sahab is considered as one of the influential music directors of the Indian film industry. 27th June marks the birthday anniversary of the legendary singer R D Burman sahib, whom we fondly call him as Pancham da. Here is a special note and a tribute in the loving memories of Pancham da with the best and popular songs.

R D Burman

Kya hua tera vaada...

R D Burman sahab's composed song 'Kya Hua Tera Vaada' is one of the most popular song among all the generation. It was featured in 1977's musical blockbuster movie Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin. The song is still remembered and sung by all after so many years. It's a club song yet very romantically!

Aaja aaja main hoon pyaar tera...

'Aaja Aaja Mai Hoon Pyar Tera' is the first hit song of Pancham Da from the movie Teesri Manzil which was released in 1966. The very talented actor Shammi Kapoor danced outstandingly in the song, which further makes it more popular. It's a foot tapping track!

Piya tu ab toh aaja...

'Piya tu ab toh aaja' is an item number and another Pancham Da's extremely popular song from the movie Caravan, which was released in the year of 1971. In the song there is one phrase where Panchanda had himself recorded in his own voice. Even though this song creates its impact presently, so we can only imagine what kind of effect it would have been created at that particular time.

The item queen of those eras, Helen, had just given a remarkable performance here in RD Burman's tunes and Asha Bhosle's sumptuous voice. These trios are for sure a deadly combination!

Muthukodi Kawari Hada...

It's one of the catchy compositions of Pancham Da with South Indian andaaz, where the legendary comic actor Mehmood had performed at its best. 'Muthukodi Kawari Hada' is from the movie 'Do Phool' which was released in 1973.

Meri soni meri tamanna...

'Meri soni meri tamanna' is from Yaadon Ki Baarat, which was released in 1973. It's an ever most and out-n-out romantic composition given by Pancham Da. One is still using this song to woo their respective life partners.
